lose one friend, lose all friends, lose yourself
I have watched the last episode in last season of the Sex & the City. Let me briefly introduce the story. Carrie is the female lead and she was in love with 2 guys, Big and Alez. Big was a businessman and Alez was an artist, famous artist. Carrie moved to Paris for the sake of Alez plus the kind of love that Alez promised to bestow to this lucky woman. Well, Alez became busy with his exhibition and neglected Carrie in Paris. Big was Carrie’s ex-boyfriend which intruded her every other relationship for the past 6 years. This time round, he appeared before Carrie again.
Carrie had chosen Big again. Let me analysis why Carrie choose Big... hmm....
First, although Alez was so sweet to her but Carrie was not comfortable with him at all. They lived in 2 different worlds.In fact, they have nothing in common although they appreciate each others’ talents but SO WHAT? Their talents led them onto two separate paths.
Although Alez gave Carrie all his assurance in this relationship and his fanciful declaration of love that no other guys have done for her before, that doesn’t mean it satisfied her security of love. Women have too much of ‘insecurities’ in life.
Third, ‘Guys are selfish creatures’. We have to admit this fact. They always want their partners to be with them in all the ‘crisis’ time; emotional crisis, career crisis and even financial crisis. However, when they were with their friends including opposite gender, your name will automatically be struck off from his dictionary. Yup, you are excused for that event! If you still insist to appear in their dictionary, they will accuse you of controlling their freedom. Alez is one of them. He tried to hold back Carrie from continuing her life in Paris. However, when he was blinded with all his ‘fames’, he let go of Carrie. Sadly, girls are always ruled by their emotion. Whenever, their guys started to use those powerful words, ‘I need you to be with me.’, they got shot immediately in their brain.
Fourth, it was even stated in the HISTORY that guys are seriously insensitive to their lovers’ feelings. They are too rational creatures. Alez thought that he was trying to let Carrie see what he is. But Carrie only wants to see what she wanted to believe. ‘Accept who I am.’ That saying was history. Now, ‘Accept what I believe’. Carrie believed that Alez can give her the kind of love she yearns for. SO? Don’t tear her belief.
Fifth, Alez introduced his daughter and ex-wife to Carrie. Come on! Do you have to introduce your ancestors to her too? This is the jealousy boundary! Although girls claimed they don’t mind your past, do you have to prove their words? Do you have to put them to such harsh tests? They said that is to put your mind at ease. PLUS, they do want to know abit of your past to satisfy their curiosity and not to kill them instantly.
Lastly, Carrie chooses Big because he understands her. He gives what she needs. Even the consoling words came out from his mouth was like a soulmate who lived in her soul. Unlike Alez, he would get something new and more expensive to console her – to replace her lost. I admit although this trick works, it can’t last forever. I would recommend both ways – getting more expensive stuffs to pamper her PLUS understands her at the same time! Words came with Actions too. Unless you are making weddings vows that it takes time to prove. Dun console for the sake of consoling. What makes the situation worse is when YOU SAID NOTHING AT ALL.
